National Service Scheme(NSS)
The National Service Scheme (NSS) at Mahila Mahavidyalaya Bahraich is a community service programme under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India. It provides students with opportunities to participate in social welfare and nation-building activities while developing their personality through community service. The motto of NSS is “Not Me but You.” It reflects the spirit of selfless service and teaches students that the welfare of an individual depends upon the welfare of society. NSS aims to create responsible, disciplined, and socially aware citizens. The main objectives of NSS are to develop leadership qualities, promote civic responsibility, create awareness about social issues, and encourage students to serve the community. It also helps students gain confidence, teamwork skills, and practical experience through service activities. The NSS Unit of the college regularly organizes various programmes such as cleanliness drives, tree plantation campaigns, health awareness programmes, blood donation camps, literacy drives, and environmental protection activities. Volunteers also observe national and international days through rallies, seminars, and awareness campaigns. Special camps are organized to promote rural development and social welfare. Participation in NSS helps students understand the value of discipline, cooperation, compassion, and responsibility. It prepares them to become active citizens and future leaders of society.
